Church IT Round Table Spring Conference
[Editor: Have you guys heard of CITRT? I have and it looks fantastic. Expect some big synergy between ChurchIT and their Roundtable movement!]
Folks, it’s that time of year again, where Church IT nerds from around the country get together to talk shop, share ideas, and enjoy great food and fellowship.
This year’s national Church IT Round Table event is happening at Saddleback Church on March 11 and 12. There is also a pre-roundtable day on March 10 for those arriving early. This day often involves a techie-oriented tour of local churches and ministry organizations.

Targeted Demographic, but All Welcome!

This event is primarily aimed at people who work in an IT capacity in a ministry setting (paid or not).
Anyone is welcome, however, and you’re almost certainly going to learn something new useful that you can apply to your ministry.
Just bear in mind that the overall discussion is going to be pegging the nerd-o-meter pretty hard.
If you want to network with IT geeks from some of the leading large churches and ministries, this is the event for you.
I’ve attended several of these events, hosted one, and it’s a blast to hang out with other techies that are passionate about serving God.
Goodbye Differences!
For me, one of the greatest things about the Church IT Round Table is that theological and denominational differences are checked at the door.
We’re all ultimately working toward the same goal, for the same Kingdom, working as the body of Christ.
As geeks, we all face the same challenges: Blocking spam, keeping our ministries equipped and happy, dealing with server catastrophes at 3am, trying to get a bigger budget, keeping all the bad stuff on the Internet from getting into the network, and so on.
If you can only go to one event this year and you have anything to do with computers in church, this one is well worth the trouble.
Registration is here, and here are two people you’ll probably want to be following: Jason Powell (Granger Community Church) and Jason Lee (Northwoods Community Church).
And, you can follow me of course here on Twitter: @Cyberentomology

Great Post Ian, SOCAL here we come!
Too bad I won’t be able to make it this year. It’s nice to finally see the RT events expanding westward.
