iPad for Mother’s Day?

Posted by John Saddington on May 9, 2010

The first time my mom saw the iPad I was honestly shocked at how engaged and interested she was in the device. To me the iPad has been somewhat of a larger-version of an iPhone, and the iPhone didn’t really impress her when she first saw it. But the large screen, the navigation, everything really [...]

Don’t Leave Your iPhone in a Hot Car

Posted by John Saddington on May 5, 2010

Apparently if you leave your iPhone in a place where it can get really, really hot, it’ll actually lock up on you and give you the above warning sign! I had no idea, and it’s not like you want this to happen anyways, right?

I’ve done a lot of thinking about how many creative professionals could really benefit from the use of an iPad in the context of ministry. For example, a number of really cool applications and usage for service programming, video production, and presentations are obvious. But what about the IT professional in ministry? Is there a [...]

How Dallas Seminary Managed a Snowed-In Campus via Technology, Texting, and More

Posted by John Saddington on Feb 13, 2010

The timing of this true story is almost too perfect: John Dyer, the Web Director and Developer at Dallas Theological Seminary, has historically had to manage campus-wide notifications manually for campus-related issues (like a record snowfall!). He would get a call at about 5:00am in the morning and then boot up the browser, FTP, and [...]
